In general, Dr. Gochfeld’s research focuses on the ecological functions of marine natural products, particularly on the roles of secondary metabolites in host-pathogen, competition and predator-prey interactions. She is also interested in understanding the implications of environmental stressors, such as climate change, disease, extreme storm events and pollution, on the ecology and physiology of marine organisms. Her current projects focus on immune responses to disease in invertebrates.
