5th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium

We’re excited to announce, and warmly invite you to, the 5th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium being held in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington Aotearoa New Zealand at the beautiful waterfront location of the Wharewaka Function Centre, 27 – 30 August 2024.

The theme for the symposium is “Chemistry meets Biology” and we aim to look at this exciting interface between the disciplines of glycochemistry and glycobiology – Bringing together researchers from various areas of Glycoscience to encourage and strengthen collaborations, pushing research forward for all.

Therapeutic Opportunities in Glycoscience

Posted on: October 8th, 2020 by Karin King Ballering

NIH Science Event (WALS)
Wednesday, October 21, 2020, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. EDT

Cell surface glycans constitute a rich biomolecular dataset that drives both normal and pathological processes. Their “readers” are glycan-binding receptors that can engage in cell-cell interactions and cell signaling. Our research focuses on mechanistic studies of glycan/receptor biology and applications of this knowledge to new therapeutic strategies. Our recent efforts center on pathogenic glycans in the tumor microenvironment and new therapeutic modalities based on the concept of targeted degradation.

JI Formative Assessments Due

A brief Mentor/JI report evaluating progress towards current year’s milestones and determining a plan
to address areas of weakness is due 10/26/20.

2020 NIH Virtual Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration

Posted on: October 5th, 2020 by Karin King Ballering

Who should attend?
The 2020 NIH Virtual Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration is especially valuable for those new to the grants process, including sponsored project officers and departmental administrators, investigators, faculty, graduate students, postdocs and others involved in the NIH grants process. The NIH Grants Process track provides the fundamentals, while the Grants Policies and Programs track and the Let’s Talk About It track have something for everyone.

What’s the goal of the Seminar?
The goal of the NIH Virtual Seminar on Program Funding and Grants Administration is to offer participants an unparalleled opportunity to gain a better perspective of NIH policies and programs, network with their peers, and gather helpful NIH contacts, so that they may return to their offices and/or labs with useful information, resources, and tools to assist in obtaining and managing NIH awards.

When can you register?
Registration is open! Remember, registration and attendance are free! Click the “Register Today” box on the
seminar website.
