Four students at the School of Pharmacy commencement ceremony

Commencement 2022 is almost here, and the students, faculty and staff of the School of Pharmacy have accomplished a lot!

Our students experienced tremendous success throughout the 2021-22 academic year. They won prestigious awards such as the Zada M. Cooper Scholarship, the EPIC Pharmacies Student Grant and the AACP Walmart Scholarship. One of our graduate student organization chapters was also recognized as one of the best in the nation. Be sure to keep an eye on the Journey to Commencement website in the coming days, where a few of our students will be featured.

This year also included an academic milestone for the school as the LandshaRx curriculum was implemented in full. The new curriculum uses an interdisciplinary teaching approach to prepare students for what they will see in their pharmacy careers.

The effectiveness of the curriculum was on display during Match Day 2022. The school boasted an 89% PGY-1 match rate, the highest percentage in school history. Seventeen of those matches will be based in Mississippi, but our students will go to sites in 15 states. Our PGY-2 match rate was an impressive 81% as well. From PGY-1 Managed Care to PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant programs, our students will be a part of 10 different program types.

Our faculty and staff continue to be recognized, winning awards for their excellence in teaching and research, as well as their commitment to the mission of the University of Mississippi.

We invite you to join us in celebrating our success during our commencement ceremony, which will be held on May 5 at the Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss.
