Pharmacy School, AACP Partner to Host Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Institute

The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy will host an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Institute in January 2021, focusing on critical areas of diversity and their impact on patient care, including race, gender, disability, economic status and other factors. Cheyenne C. Newsome and Jessica Conklin — passionate advocates for the role of pharmacists in the care of transgender persons — spoke on the most recent PharmacyForward podcast about the need for patient and provider education and about the benefits and risks of gender-affirming treatment. PharmacyForward is produced by the Division of Pharmacy Professional Development at the School of Pharmacy.
