UM Partners with Emerald Bioscience to License Cannabis-derived Drugs

The cannabis research program at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy has partnered with pharmaceutical company Emerald Bioscience Inc. to license two new drug technologies that may provide nonaddictive pain management, prevent blindness and alleviate the threat of irreversible vision loss from glaucoma and other eye diseases. The Division of Pharmacy Professional Development recently released two PharmacyForward podcast episodes about gender identity and providing gender-affirming care to people who are transgender or gender nonconforming. Gender dysphoria is associated with high rates of mental health problems, and many transgender individuals delay care due to stigma. Many health professionals are unsure of how to best address the needs of this population. This timely PharmacyForward podcast series provides helpful advice and insights.
