OXFORD, Miss – The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy honored Bob and Wilma Wilbanks for their outstanding careers and commitment to service during the school’s Alumni Weekend awards banquet on April 9.
Bob (BSPH 82) is the director of pharmacy at Bolivar Medical Center and Wilma (BSPH 81) is a pharmacist with Walgreens in the Cleveland, Mississippi, area. The pair graciously serve our profession and school as long-time preceptors and mentors for our student pharmacists. Bob has participated in international mission trips and received the Bowl of Hygeia from the Mississippi Pharmacists Association. Wilma served on the Mississippi Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and numerous other roles for the Mississippi Pharmacists Association.
Outside of the profession, both are generous in giving back to their communities. The Wilbanks are major patrons of the Bologna Performing Arts Center, the Delta Music Institute and the Cleveland Music Foundation. They were also instrumental in fundraising for the GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. Bob and Wilma have been leaders for various local, state and national organizations that include president roles for the Delta Arts Alliance and Delta Gamma Fraternity, respectively.
