OXFORD, Miss. – Representatives from schools across the nation gathered Jan. 30-31 at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy for the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education board of directors meeting.

NIPTE is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the design, development and manufacturing processes of pharmaceutical products by connecting members of the pharmaceutical industry with top-ranked pharmaceutical educational programs.

NIPTE board members were invited on a tour of the school’s facilities.

The board meets semiannually at various member institutions and assists in overseeing the organization’s financial matters and ensuring the success of ongoing projects.

Members toured the school’s facilities and attended a reception Thursday (Jan. 30) at Bryant Hall. The second day consisted of the meeting with a working lunch session before members departed with gift bags containing Mississippi-made products.

“This meeting is a wonderful opportunity to discuss how we can further NIPTE’s mission,” said David D. Allen, dean at the School of Pharmacy. “We want to continue using our members’ broad pharmaceutical research expertise to help solve challenges within the pharmaceutical industry.”
