Two Pharmacy Alumni Earn Spots in 40 Under 40 Class

Dylan Lindsey and Taylor Sparkman honored for positive community impact

OXFORD, Miss. – Two University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy alumni, Dr. Dylan Lindsay and Dr. Taylor Sparkman, have been named members of the Ole Miss Alumni Association’s 2025 40 Under 40 class.

“We are incredibly proud to congratulate our esteemed alumni on this achievement,” said Donna Strum, dean of the School of Pharmacy. “Their dedication to advancing healthcare and making a meaningful impact in their communities is truly inspiring.”

The 40 Under 40 program celebrates the personal, professional and philanthropic achievements of successful university graduates under the age of 40.

Lindsay serves as a pharmacy supervisor for the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s specialty pharmacy program. There, he oversees the program’s accreditation and quality management efforts, as well as clinic-based pharmacy staff for dermatology, pediatric endocrinology and adult infectious diseases patient care areas.

Lindsay is a Jackson native and a graduate of Millsaps College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in biology before pursuing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Mississippi.

After graduating with his Pharm.D. in 2014, he completed two years of residency training through the UM School of Pharmacy, focusing on ambulatory care and academia.

Following residency, Lindsay worked for three years in the Mississippi Pine Belt as part of a patient care initiative between the Hattiesburg Clinic health systems and Cigna Medicare, obtaining board certifications as an ambulatory care pharmacist and diabetes care and education specialist in the process.

The improvement in patient outcomes realized through this initiative was so pronounced that Lindsay and his partnered nurse practitioner were asked to present their collaborative workflows to all Cigna Medicare clinical staff in the U.S.

Outside of work, Lindsay is involved with multiple professional pharmacy organizations and has participated in numerous survey panels, task forces, professional summits and continuing education presentations. He also serves as a preceptor for the School of Pharmacy.

Lindsay has been recognized by the Mississippi Business Journal as a Top 40 Under 40 honoree and a UM School of Pharmacy Preceptor of the Year. He and his wife Emily live in Brandon with their son Rhys.

Sparkman is a clinical pharmacist for U.S. Renal Care, where she collaborates with nephrologists to optimize medications for patients living with chronic kidney disease and kidney transplants.

She received her bachelor’s in pharmaceutical sciences and her Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the UM School of Pharmacy.

She continued her education by completing a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at TriStar Centennial Medical Center and a PGY2 residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where she specialized in solid organ transplantation.

Upon completion of residency, Sparkman worked at UAB Hospital as a solid organ transplant clinical pharmacist, managing all aspects of pharmaceutical care for transplant recipients.

Sparkman is involved in national nephrology and transplant pharmacy organizations working to collect and analyze information from transplant pharmacists across the country to improve job satisfaction and resiliency to reduce burnout.

She has participated in clinical research leading to publication and has been awarded for her research at a national transplant conference.

Since moving back to Oxford, she has joined the Junior Auxiliary of Oxford, where she serves children in need in the community. She is also an alumna of Tri Delta sorority and serves as a Tri Delta advisor.

Sparkman, Lindsay and their 40 Under 40 peers will be recognized with a ceremony on March 28.

“The Class of 2025 did not disappoint, boasting young alumni from Ole Miss with diverse careers in finance, health care, communications, higher education and governmental affairs,” said Sunny Brown, assistant director of alumni affairs. “It will be an honor to award this special group in March.”
