Tyler Vest Receives BPS Rising Star Award
Honor recognizes contributions in promoting pharmacist board certification
OXFORD, Miss. – Tyler Vest, research associate professor in the Research Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences, recently received the 2026 Rising Star Award from the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS). Each year the award goes to a pharmacist who has made significant early career contributions toward advancing pharmacist board certification.
Vest also has been named to the newly formed BPS Pharmacy Informatics Specialty Council, which the BPS board of directors approved as a specialty certification in 2025 and launched this past April.
“I’m honored to be recognized at this point in my career by BPS and to receive this award,” Vest said. “I’m privileged to do something that I love, and I want to support and encourage others pursuing careers in pharmacy.”
Before arriving at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, Vest held several pharmacy executive roles at academic health systems, and was a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy. He is board certified in pharmacotherapy and sterile compounding, and is an associate editor for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy.
