Honoring the Legacy of Danny B. Dedmon

Plaque honoring Danny B. Dedmon

The School of Pharmacy is proud to recognize a generous gift from the family of Danny B. Dedmon, who provided funding to name the Sterile Compounding Room in the School of Pharmacy as the Danny B. Dedmon Sterile Compounding Room. This meaningful contribution celebrates the life and legacy of Danny B. Dedmon, a devoted pharmacist, community leader, and loyal supporter of Ole Miss Pharmacy.

Mr. Dedmon earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 1969 and went on to serve patients and families in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for more than 50 years. As the owner and operator of City Drug Company, he became a trusted resource in his community—known not only for his professional expertise but also for the kindness, generosity, and personal attention he showed to everyone who walked through his doors. His commitment to service and community embodies the best of what it means to be an Ole Miss pharmacist.

Thanks to this thoughtful donation, Mr. Dedmon’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations of student pharmacists who train in the newly named Danny B. Dedmon Sterile Compounding Room. We are deeply grateful for this gift that honors his remarkable life and ensures his impact lives on.
