OXFORD, Miss. – Oxford High School valedictorian and University of Mississippi STAMPS Scholar Zeyad Ibrahim is seeking to make an impact in the field of health care.

Ibrahim arrived at Ole Miss pharmacy as both a STAMPS Scholar and a member of the Early Entry pharmacy program.

The STAMPS Scholars program, one of the university’s elite scholarships, awards scholarships based on academic excellence, leadership experience and exceptional character. At the university, the scholarship covers the full cost of attendance as well as providing a stipend for enrichment activities such as study abroad, academic conferences and leadership training.

In high school, Ibrahim honed his science and leadership skills by participating in science competitions and serving as the Mississippi Secretary of State student ambassador. He is known for his strong work ethic and dedication to academic excellence.

“His faith in his capability and ability to navigate challenges with grace and turn adversity into motivation has been truly inspiring to witness,” said his father, Mohamed Ali Ibrahim, a senior research scientist in the university’s National Center for Natural Products Research.

Ibrahim’s mother is also employed by the university and his sister Mennah graduated a year early from Oxford High School and is also pursuing an undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical sciences at Ole Miss.

“Having my family at Ole Miss is incredibly meaningful to me,” Ibrahim said. “It provides a sense of continuity and support as I transition to this new chapter in my academic journey.”

Through his academic career at the university, Ibrahim said he seeks a deep understanding of pharmaceutical sciences and is excited about research projects and forming new relationships.

“I look forward to building lasting relationships with faculty, peers and professionals who can guide and inspire me throughout my career.”
