Dr. Chougule’s lab research work focused on targeted gene and drug combination for lung cancer has been accepted for publication in the Molecular Therapy – Nucleic Acids, a Nature publishing group Journal. Congratulations to Laura and Chougule.

Dr. Chougule’s TransDGDR lab moved to the Department of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery, Pii Center for Pharmaceutical Technology, National Center for Natural Products Research, the Research of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, School of Pharmacy, University of Mississippi. Moving with great memories during past 6 years at the University of Hawaii at Hilo’s the Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharamcy.

Dr. Chougule and two postgraduate students, Micah and Susanne attended AAPS annual meeting 2014 at San Diego. Congratulations to Dr. Chougule for his UH Travel Award, Susanne for 2014 AAPS Formulation Design and Development Section (FDD) Travelship Award and Micah for 2014 Alex Travel Award. Posters presented in this meeting were “M1210 – Onconase Loaded Albumin-Chitosan Hybrid Nanocarriers for Mesothelioma Therapy”, “M1039 – Formulation and Characterization of STAT6 siRNA Matrix-Loaded Gelatin Nanocarriers” and “W4332 – Modeling and Validation of Material Properties of Crystalline Particles: Formation and Stability under Stress”.

Dr. Chougule attended NanoDDS meeting 2014. He presented a poster “Design and Analysis Hybrid Onconase Nanocarriers for Mesothelioma Therapy”. He also delivered invited talk “Targeted Nanocarriers for the Treatment of Cancer” at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Congratulations!!! Dr. Chougule has been won the “Support of Competitive Research (SCORE) Research Continuance Award” for “Targeted Combination Therapy for Lung Cancer”. The goals of this proposal are to develop, characterize and evaluate the nanocarrier systems of siRNA in combination with chemo drug for treatment of lung cancer.
