Saumil’s thesis involves determining strategies adopted by community pharmacist to improve the immunization rate for the influenza vaccine. Other projects he is working on include cost-effectiveness model for upadacitinib, impact of Covid-19 pandemic on pharmacy graduate students, and trends in PPI prescribing. His career goals at the moment are to work in a market access company or work with big data analysis companies, and eventually own a consulting firm.

Wesley Sparkmon is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Pharmacy Administration with a concentration in Management. His pharmacy-based research focus area is in pharmacy technician workforce, policy, and academia. He also has research interests in the increased involvement of pharmacy in public health, including rural pharmacy access and utilization. He has experience in community and long-term care pharmacy and instructing pharmacy technicians preparing for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.

Sonam Nair has a background in pharmacy, as well as in the pharmacovigilance industry at Cognizant Technology Solutions. These roles have rendered her an opportunity to research on several healthcare projects in the field of drug safety, clinical trials data, diabetes, cardiovascular health, women’s health, and biosimilars. Some of her research projects are in the field of pharmacoeconomics (cost-effectiveness analysis), pharmaceutical marketing, and health outcomes analysis.

Additionally, she is also interested in applying health outcomes disciplines in the rare disease population (mental health).

Bio:

Swarnali Goswami is a Ph.D. student in the Outcomes track. She has completed her Master’s in Pharmacy degree from the University of Delhi, India. Previously, she has worked as an analyst in a multinational pharmaceutical consultancy before coming to the United States to pursue her Ph.D. She has extensive experience in healthcare database analysis such as Medicare and Medicaid, on projects assessing the healthcare resource use and economic burden of diseases. She has also worked on several projects involving complex survey data such as MEPS and HCUP. As part of her assistantship, she works as an Analyst for the Center for Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management at the University of Mississippi. After completing her Ph.D. Swarnali intends to be engaged in research that focusses on patient-centered outcomes.
