Interests:
Dr. Harrell’s research efforts are focused on health promotion and disease prevention, student development, and experiential education. Areas of concentration most recently have been in cardiovascular disease, childhood obesity, and student engagement in practice experiences. He is also interested in studying best approaches for preceptor development, quality assurance of experiential sites, and student self-awareness as related to personal and professional development.
