Dr. Ilias’ research areas are: (1) Isolation and structure elucidation of bioactive compounds from plants with special emphasis on antimicrobial, antiparasitic, anticancer and neuropharmacological agents. (2) Isolation and testing of psychoactive marker compounds from plants and supplements (non-Cannabis) with abuse potential, and developing preparative-scale isolation methodology. (3) Developing an improved, efficient, economic and environment-friendly technology using Centrifugal (Planar) Preparative Thin Layer Chromatography (CPTLC).
