In 2015, I received my Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. I started my PhD in the Pharmacology Division in 2016 under Dr. Sharp’s supervision. Since joining the Sharp Lab, I have been working on the development of chromatography methods for co-elution of peptide modification isomers. This would allow the processing of Hydroxyl Radical Protein Footprinting by Fast Photochemical Oxidation of Protein (HRPF-FPOP) data to be analyzed much more quickly. Another of my projects looks at the topographical changes of human COSMC (core 1 β3 Gal transferase specific molecular chaperon) upon binding to the T-synthase peptide (core 1 β3 Gal transferase). While carrying out these experiments, I noticed that the quality of the data changed dramatically with the amount of sample used for LC-MS/MS analysis. This was not known in the field, and I was able to publish the work in 2018. I enjoy fishing, kayaking, cooking, and gardening in my free time.
