Ole Miss Pharmacy Sees Match Day Surge
Pharmacy school leads SEC, tops national rankings

OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy led the Southeastern Conference and came in fourth in the nation among public pharmacy schools with students participating in Residency Match Day.
“I am excited for our graduates, and I am thankful for our faculty, staff, preceptors and alumni who are committed to helping our students succeed,” said Donna Strum, dean of the School of Pharmacy.
A total of 42 student pharmacists from the class of 2025 matched with a PGY1 residency program across 16 states, amounting to a match rate of 93%. This represents 45% of the graduating class. Two graduates from the class of 2024 also secured PGY1 residencies, and nine recent graduates secured PGY2 residencies, spread across eight states and seven specialties.
The overall match rate for all participating students is 91%.
“I am incredibly proud of our pharmacy students, whose dedication and hard work have led to an exceptional match rate with their top choice residency programs,” said Kayla Stover, assistant dean at the pharmacy school’s Jackson campus.
“This milestone is a testament to their talent, perseverance and commitment to excellence, as well as the unwavering support and guidance from our faculty and staff. I am excited to see what the future brings for these rising stars.”
