Future Needs and Goals
Department of Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery
Faculty members continue to move the department forward and they are excited by the unit’s accomplishments and future potential. Restructuring of the School of Pharmacy’s departments began in January 2014. Although change is always an adjustment, the process provided the opportunity for the unit to add personnel and thus achieve a “critical mass” to maximize department productivity. Overall everyone perceives the department’s future for creativity and scholarly pursuits as extremely optimistic.
It is noteworthy that Dean Allen and other pharmacy administrators have been extremely supportive of the unit to reach five full-time faculty and to help garner research support to enable the department to attain its future missions (including sustained support for the Pii Center for Pharmaceutical Technology). Faculty motivation and enthusiasm remains extremely high and productivity, both quantitatively and qualitatively, continues to be significantly enhanced over previous years. With the positive changes that have occurred over the last five years and those that are planned within the department, our unit now enjoys and is deserving to claim both national and international recognition.
